End of the Year Shuffle

I know that this is the time of the year that leads us to too many things to do.  It seems like every night there is something different going on.  It's crazy.

First, I think that our athletics teams deserve so much credit for going so far in the state playoffs and still focusing on academics. We are so lucky and blessed to have so many talented teachers, players, and coaches.  And yet, the summer still calls us.

As the year winds down, we have so many things that need to be done.  Of particular attention to me is collection, which I thank you all in advance for.  So many people signed up to work collection that it is humbling that you are willing to help me out when needed.

This year is also very bittersweet for me.  I've had a number of people ask me how I feel about the role transition between the Help Desk to Instructional Coach.  And to be honest, I know that this change is huge, but it hasn't really hit me the transition is going to be difficult.  I've always viewed being the Help Desk Manager being the different side of the same coin for coaching.  My view is always to help teachers become more effective in what they do.  I want to make their lives easier, whether it's with technology or some ways to help them improve their practice.  The reason I got out of teaching content based classes was that my impact on student achievement can grow.  With the role of Instructional Coach, I really hope that I have more time to help out those that ask for it.

I am very sad though that I won't be working with students every day.  No one ever gets into teaching to move away from the classroom.  We all do it for the kids.  I'm going to miss the kids.  That's what hurts the most.

Other new and notes.  Room Assignments, Class Assignments, and everything else is pushing us toward the end of the year.  Here is some bonus content for those of you who read.  Early Access to some stuff:

1) 4th Quarter Gradebook Setup
2) End of Year Checkout Procedures
3) Email me if you want to get started on the beginning of school year modules.

I'm really looking forward to helping all of you more next year.  Excited!
